Beit Hamidrash Helwani with Rabbi Pinto

The Beit Hamidrash Helwani was founded by Hazzan Abittan in 2000, as a way to keep Jewish values alive by informing and bringing light to various topics within the Jewish texts and oral histories.

At the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue, we have many congregants from various backgrounds, and so we feel that a space that is tolerant of all traditions is the best kind of Jewish learning experience. The Beit Hamidrash Helwani may focus primarily on Sephardic texts and explanations, but Jews from all over the world are welcome.
