Dr. Gabbay received his medical degree from McGill University in 1998, and graduated in 2002, specializing in Internal Medicine. His areas of interest include Pain Management, Obesity and metabolic syndromes, and preventative medicine. He started his career as an Emergency room consultant, and started shifting toward outpatient practice by 2009. Discovering an unmet need for pain management in the West Island, he developed an expertise in injection techniques for pain management, and dealing with complex pain conditions.

By 2012 he founded Clinique Medicale Mediplex in the West Island, specializing in pain management, obesity and diabetes, and preventative medicine.

He was interested in finding novel ways to manage pain, that do not include the pain of injections, and have minimal to no side effects. He was intrigued by the power and healing effects of light. He studied the science and the use of lasers over a period of 4 years, and in 2020 he founded Orel Medical laser, the first and only clinic in Quebec, specializing in the care of pain through the use of lasers.
