" ..that they take for you pure olive oil pressed כתית for lighting למאור to make a light shine out continuously."(27,20)

 Pressed brings to light

Concerning this verse the Grand Rabbi Rabbi Moshe Leib of Sassov said: "pressed for lighting"- After a person presses down (breaks) his Evil Inclination he becomes capable of "lighting" – to absorb the splendorous light of the Divine Presence.

Similary, the Grand Rabbi Rabbi Moshe of Kobrin says "pressed for lighting" – Try to break down all the lusts and bad traits within you so that you can merit to receive light and inspiration from Heaven.

The Magid Rabbi Dov Ber of Mizrich used to say: In the verse before us we find an allusion to the fact that strenuous activity brings to the light of Torah. The more a person strains himself to walk distances to a Makom Torah, the more he will become purified from all the defects that he has acquired, until he reaches the level "to make a light shine out continuously"- to acquire the light of Torah.
