The treasure that will be revealed in Future Times

"And Yosef gathered up all the money that was to be found in the land of Egypt..." (Breshit 47,14)

"Rabbi Chama BiRabbi Chanina said: Yosef Hatzadik hid three treasures. One was revealed by Korach and one was revealed to Antoninus the son of Aureus and one was hidden for the righteous ones in Future Times." (Sanhedrin 110, A)

Rabbenu the Ben Ish Chai zt'l (Ben Yehoyada Sanhedrin 100, A) explained that Yosef divided the money that he had collected in Egypt into three parts and he designated them for three different goals.

One third of the money that was received from the Egyptians came from idol worshippers and Yosef miraculously knew which money that was and he hid that money and designated it for Korach to become very wealthy from it and, in the end, it was all lost when it was swallowed up in the earth – because money from idol worship is destined to be eradicated.

One third of the money received was not from idol worshippers but was from people who did not deal honestly and earned their money from stealing etc. and Yosef hid this money and designated it for the Roman government so that the stolen money would serve the public's needs – as our Sages have set down for people who repent on their stealing and don't know from whom they stole (Betza 29, A).

And one third of the money came from the Egyptians who were careful to fulfill the seven Noahide laws and earned their money honestly. This Yosef hid and designated for Future Times for the righteous.
