"Command Aharon and his sons saying…" (6,2)

"Command only means to spur on now and for generations." (Rashi)

Since this mitzvah is intended for generations, as it says, it needs spurring on lest it become "old". It should rather be always done with enthusiasm and regeneration.

Therefore, we say in our prayers "Fortunate are we, how good is our lot…" and we say "every day always twice with love we say the Shema". Fortunate are we and how good is our lot that even if we say "Shema Yisrael" twice every day, nevertheless we say it "with love" – with continuous enthusiasm, freshness and regeneration.

Our Sages have said: "He who is commanded and does something is greater than he who is not commanded and does so" (Kedushim) – because it is harder for the one who "is commanded and does" than for the one who is not commanded and does.

We learn that in a place where there is a "Command", there a person must spur himself on more because it is more difficult.

Shabbat Shalom!!
