This week, we celebrated Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Remembrance Day. To mark this very important day, I had the privilege to participate in Federation CJA’s project entitled «Taste of memories» to honour the memories of fallen soldiers or victims of a terrorist attack by making one of their favourite food.

The «Taste of memories» project was created to connect the Jewish community all over the world to Yom Hazikaron in a special way.

As a mother and wife, preparing food for my family is one of my greatest pleasure and one that connects me to them.
Food is a common language all over the world. In the kitchen and around the table, we smell, taste, make memories and reminisce. Everyone has a recipe that reminds them of someone dear.

I prepared a Moroccan fish tagine in honour of Yanai Wisman Z’’L and a delicious banana cake which was Oren Noach Z’’L favourite dessert.

I’ve included both of their stories and recipes and invite all of you to read about them. By sharing their stories, we remember their lives that were taken too quickly and the brave sacrifices they made for Israel.

I pray and hope that soon we will be able to live in peace in Israel. Am Israël Chai!!!!
